She Who Remembers
She stands in the quiet after the guns have gone silent.
She Who Remembers bears the poppy not as ornament, but as witness. Cracks run through her skin like history through land—held together by ritual, by grief carried with care. Letters rest at her feet, never sent, never answered. Behind her, the silhouettes of soldiers remain indistinct, as memory often is: present, but unreachable.
This piece was created in observance of Remembrance Day, honoring the cost of service, the weight carried by those left behind, and the solemn duty of remembering without spectacle.
Within Messages Within the Garden, she represents remembrance as an act of tending—quiet, continuous, and necessary.
Lest we forget.
